New Products Coming to Taiwan? - Oil Futures ETF and Leverage/Inverse ETFs Tracking Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index
According to the China Times, Taiwan ETF manager, Yuanta, is set to launch Taiwan’s first ETFs tracking oil futures. Meanwhile, Fuh Hwa is launching three ETFs, tracking Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index, the HSI Leveraged Index and the HSI Short Index. According to the report, these ETFs are expected to be listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange in September.
RQFII ETF Watch – A Quieter Month For Flows
- In August, RQFII ETFs recorded marginal net outflows, estimated at Rmb 0.2 billion (0.5% of beginning and 0.6% of ending AUM). This follows Rmb 5.1 billion of net outflows in July 2015. YTD total net outflows are estimated at Rmb 21.2 billion.
- The majority of the net outflows during the month came from the CSOP China 5-Year Treasury Bond ETF (83199 & 03199), estimated at Rmb 0.8 billion; while we saw net inflows to the ChinaAMC CSI 300 Index ETF (83188 & 03188), estimated at Rmb 0.9 billion.
- The largest A-Share ETF by AUM in Hong Kong, iShares FTSE A50 China Index ETF (02823) recorded net inflows, estimated at Rmb 0.6 billion in August, following estimated net inflows of Rmb 0.3 billion in July. YTD total net outflows from the iShares FTSE A50 China Index ETF are estimated at Rmb 34.7 billion.
New Launches and Listings
Kiwoom, Korea Investment, Samsung and Kyobo AXA List 4 ETFs in Korea
During the month, Kiwoom Asset Management, Korea Investment, Samsung Asset Management and Kyobo AXA listed four ETFs tracking twice the daily volatility of F-USDKRW Index, the daily performance of the Fnguide K-Culture Star Index, the KOSPI and the KAP Short Term Bond Index (Total Return).
The listing of these ETFs puts the total number of ETFs listed in Korea at 185.
